SUMMARY:School Road Closure - Tuesday April 7th to Friday 17th April
DESCRIPTION:The long awaited death of the planters to be replaced by two others and some much needed improvements to pedestrian safety. \n\nSchool Road in Wrington will be closed during the day from Tuesday 7 April while safety improvements are completed in the village. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe scheme will deliver pedestrian footway improvements and traffic calming measures aimed at enhancing safety and accessibility for local residents and visitors. \nThe works will include the construction of kerb build-outs to replace the existing planters\, installation of new dropped kerbs\, new double yellow lines near the school and improvements to the pedestrian footway. \nWorks will take place daily between 8am and 5pm and are expected to be completed by Friday 17 April. \nTo enable the works to be carried out safely\, a road closure will be in place on School Road during the working hours. The road is expected to remain open outside of these hours and at weekends\, unless unforeseen circumstances arise. \nAccess for emergency services\, residents and local businesses will be maintained throughout the works. \nCllr Hugh Malyan\, North Somerset Council’s cabinet member with responsibility for roads said: “We appreciate that roadworks can cause temporary disruption and would like to thank residents and road users for their patience while these improvements are carried out. These works will help create a safer and more accessible environment for pedestrians in Wrington.” \nIf the works are completed ahead of schedule\, the road will be reopened as soon as it is safe to do so. \nMap of School Road\, past the school \nMap of School Road\, South Meadows to Orchard Close
