SUMMARY:Advent Carols with Cantiamo Singers
DESCRIPTION:Thank you to everyone who came to our concert in October where we were delighted to have raised over £500 for Wrington Church! We will be returning for the very popular Advent Service of Lessons and Carols on Sunday 7th December at 6.30pm. In addition to beautiful carols\, there will be traditional Advent hymns for congregational singing. A wonderful way to start the Christmas season. \n\nThis traditional service of lessons and carols for Advent has become a favourite way to start the Christmas season. Join us at All Saints’ Church\, Wrington on Sunday 7th December at 6.30pm to hear beautiful music performed by Cantiamo and of course to join in congregational carols such as O Come\, O Come Emmanuel and Lo! He Comes With Clouds Descending.

SUMMARY:“Give us this day: songs of life and hope” - A showcase of the diversity of the Trinity Singers
DESCRIPTION:Local choir Trinity Singers\, based in Churchill\, is well-known for the wide array of music\noffered in its programmes. On Saturday 25th October\, at All Saints Church Wrington\, the\nchoir presents a programme enGtled “Give us this day: songs of life and hope”\, which will\nagain showcase this diversity.\nThere are stories of life\, love and faithlessness\, presented in arrangements of folksongs by\nJohn RuNer and others. These include variants on the archetypal ‘Young man meets maid\,\npursues maid\, betrays maid’ tale\, as well as the rather less common ‘Old lady drowns\nhusband in the river’.\nThere are stories of struggle\, resistance and hope\, including the popular spirituals “Steal\naway”\, “Go down\, Moses” and “Were you there?” There is Ethel Smyth’s sGrring suffrageNe\nanthem “March of the Women”\, plus the first performance of a new work\, “Sympathy”\,\nspecially wriNen for the concert by local composer Nick Varley. SUMMARY:Cantiamo Singers "Seasons of the Soul"
DESCRIPTION:Cantiamo’s ethereal Autumn programme\, ‘Seasons of the Soul’\, follows the human condition through new life to love\, longing and hope of heaven\, and features beautiful a cappella music spanning the 16th to the 21st centuries by Byrd\, Purcell\, Stanford\, Lauridsen\, Gjeilo\, Tavener and more. \nThe concert will take place in All Saints’ Church\, Wrington on Sunday 5th October at 6.30pm. \nEntry will be free but generous donations towards the upkeep of this lovely church would be appreciated. \nCantiamo\, conducted by Jeremy Martin\, are a sixteen voice auditioned choir with a reputation for performing music of the highest quality.
