Tuesday, 2nd June, 1953 (Coronation Day) 10 am Judging of Decorated Arches, Houses and Shop Windows 11am-3pm Television of Coronation (kindly given by A. Spalding and Sons) in the Wrington Methodist Church ______________ During a pause in the Television Programme from 1.50pm - 2.20pm Light Refreshments will be served. 4pm Children's Tea in Broad Street (If wet, Memorial Hall) Children should please bring cup and plate 4pm Old People's Tea Party in the British Restaurant 5.30pm Assembly of Entrants for Fancy Dress Carnival Parade in Station Yard 6.15pm Judging of Carnival in Broad Street 8pm Dancing in Broad Street to Ted Naish and his Band (If wet, in Memorial Hall) 10pm Procession, with Band, to the Quarry, Wrington Hill, for Bonfire and Firework Display Dancing in Broad Street until 12 midnight Saturday, 6th June, 1953 2.30pm Adults' and Children's Handicraft Exhibition in the Memorial Hall 3pm Adults' and Children's Sports in the Recreation Ground ______________ For details of various Competitions, please see Schedules ________________ Watch the Village Notice Board for Announcements Play your part and make the Coronation Celebrations a memorable occasion With any surplus funds your Coronation Committee hopes to erect a permanent Memorial of the Coronation GOD SAVE THE QUEEN |
