Frank and Betty Nunn, former residents of the Old Post Office in Redhill, travelled down from Inverness in Scotland. Frank taught in the Sunday school at Redhill Church during the late 1970’s and is affectionately remembered by his ex-pupils.

I have since received a letter from Frank, who writes:

“Just a line to say how much I enjoyed the ‘Re-Union’ you organised so well. It was a great joy and experience to meet once again young people whom I first knew as very young children. You have all grown up into lovely personalities. It was a memorable occasion. Very well done. Love to all Frank.”

Also, Barry Wilson, who lived at Vosper Cottage and attended Redhill School in the 1940’s, journeyed up from South Devon to meet numerous former classmates.

Many interesting photographs were arranged, from different times, highlighting Redhill School and village life. Some images were from the last reunion in 2000. Thanks to those, who searched attics and albums, for producing their photos. There were certainly several amusing ones.

By selling the images, for £1 each, I was able to boost the collection for the British Heart Foundation. I will keep hold of the remaining pictures for the Redhill Village Hall and Club centenary celebrations in 2011.

Special thanks go to Mark and Russell Perry, for kindly printing the majority of pictures on display and to Redhill Club Committee for donating the hall hire fee to the British Heart Foundation. I was overwhelmed by all those who donated many raffle prizes, so my gratitude to you. Thanks also for the beautiful basket of fruit from Andrew Seager who runs the stall on the Wells Road, Draycott, who remembered Sue Keedwell and to Alvis Bros for their donation of vouchers to use at the farm shop.

The event raised £302.19 for the British Heart Foundation.
