How the Other Half Loves

page 3

With William at last out of the way answering his call of nature, Frank gets down to what he sees as fatherly advice for Mary on how to deal with her wayward husband's conduct, unaware that the story of it, as given him by Fiona as a way of deflecting his interest in her own long absences, is total fiction. Mary is left puzzled.

Teresa, on the other hand, will move rapidly towards identifying the rat she's been smelling, when William torpedoes Bob's alibi ...
... and she responds by locking the door on Bob.
The dinners, too, begin understandably differently - as between Fiona's elegance and Teresa's Fairy liquid soup and charred potatoes...
... a disaster she removes with a determined gesture ... and another bottle of plonk
... and where Frank misses what's going on around him, Bob so disgusted he starts a rumble ...
... ending in William's soaking ... in both realities .. an event Frank attributes to higher powers.
