The Emerald city turns out to have a splendid array of troops, whose only problem is they're all generals, bar one, lonely ranker, and he's reluctant to drill because his feet hurt ...
... which leaves a fine body of men with very little to do ...
... except on those rare occasions when the squaddie can be persuaded to march for them ...
Meanwhile, rather more urgent concerns are afflicting Oz Lady, who's found a manky lion hightailing it around the place ...
... and she won't be satisfied until the army have him under arrest ...
... but all this is forgotten with the arrival on the scene of Lord Growlie and his awfully well-brought up young gels ...
After hearing of Dorothy and co's plight, Lord G does the decent thing and agrees to push off and supplicate the Wizard ...
... leaving his daughters to fill Dorothy in on the delights of the land of Oz ...
On his return he announces he's set up an audience with the Wiz.
... which happy news serves merely to remind the tin man of what he lacks, and, being a pessimist at heart (if he had one), he can only contemplate the worst ...
