Wrington PARISH COUNCIL Planning Minutes |
Minutes of a Meeting of the Planning Committee of Wrington Parish Council held in the John Locke room on Tuesday 22nd March 2005
The Chairman opened the Meeting at 18.00 hours. The Minutes of the Meeting held on 1st March 2005 were adopted without amendment. Matters arising. 1) Environment Agency (Belvedere)-Chairman proposed that as nothing heard back to date from the EA that the matter be dropped. As and when something is received a report will be made. 2) Butcombe Brewery- nothing heard back from the Planning Department on the issues raised- report will be made as and when updates received. The Clerk reported that the Licensing Officer had visited the Brewery with regard to the application for an on-licence. It is only for use at the Visitors Centre to promote the Brewery’s own products and in view of this the Clerk has confirmed to the Licensing Officer that the Council would not object. 3) Havyat Industrial Units- the application has been withdrawn. Mr. Swinburn (an objector) is in receipt of a detailed letter from NSC on the matter. 4) Ladywell- Cllr. Glynn explained why there is no planning requirement and produced a booklet “Planning A Guide for Householders” which explains what you need to know about the planning system. 5) Gatcombe Farm- an update was provided pre-meeting. 6) Advertising signs- when reported to NSC Mr. Bush indicated that he had instructed Simon Banbury to remove the offending signs. To date not done and the Clerk is to chase. For planning applications and comments see attached sheet. 2) North Somerset Replacement Local Plan- the Clerk reported that despite pressure from GOSWA to scrap this document and move immediately to the Local Development Framework it was NSC’s intention to move the NSRLP forward as they recognise the considerable amount of time spent by Parish Councils and other key stakeholders. The Clerk has already written to GOSWA supporting the Council’s stance. 3) Cllr. Clements raised the subject of Bullhouse Lane and the work that NSC has promised to do before this financial year end. The Clerk e-mailed Adrian Leonard on 11th March advising him that the lane was ready for the contractors to move in and he was instructed to remind NSC of their commitment again. Mention was made of the outstanding work on the kissing gates between Ladywell and The Alburys and also the footpath between the High Street and Ropers Lane. Clerk to take forward. 4) With a view to improving communication between the PC and NSC the Clerk will in future e-mail the Planning Department with comments on planning applications- this as a result of a letter that was sent following the meeting held on 8th February not being received by NSC. |
