Following the recent resignation of Cllr Steve Hogg, the councillor for Wrington, a by-election was held yesterday to elect a new councillor to represent the ward.

The Ballot papers were counted immediately after polling stations closed at 10pm and the results are as follows:

DAW, Thomas Joseph Harrison, Green Party                            336

LISTER, Steven James, Labour                                                       112

LOUDEN-COOKE, Samantha Anne, Liberal Democrats                             283

TALL, Annabel Emma Elizabeth, The Conservative Party           297

Thomas Joseph Harrison Daw is the new councillor for Wrington.

Electorate:                        3568

Ballot papers verified:        1029

Turnout:                            28.84%
