About Us
Where are we?
Our Club is situated in Wrington Vale about 12 miles south of Bristol. Most of our members are from the
surrounding villages but some are from further afield in Weston super Mare and Bristol. Our monthly meetings are
held at the Mendip Spring Golf Club just outside Congresbury with the exception of April and December when we
hold a dinner and lunch respectively with our wives and partners at a different location.
Meetings and membership
What is required of members?
In many respects, very little. Most members attend the monthly lunch and speaker events where they can plus two
the formal events already mentioned. The amount of time you invest in the Club is up to each member but those
able to help with the running of the Club do so in one way or another during their membership.
What does the Club do?
The main activity is the monthly lunch with a variety of speakers on a range of subjects. We have had some really
interesting speakers and have a varied list of speakers booked over the next year or so. Several times a year there
are social events organised such as skittles with our wives invited, shooting and archery and organised walks. In
addition, we have recently visited Dartmouth, The Royal Mint, Chepstow Races and the Severn Valley Railway.
The plan is to have three such events each year. However, at the present time (February 2021) we are not able to
meet at our usual venue due to Covid restrictions but have been using Zoom for online meetings including external
speakers.
What does it cost?
The annual subscription is £20 with the cost of a two-course lunch plus coffee being £15 including a raffle
contribution. The cost of visits and social events are priced individually.
