BRISTOL Airport has closed some of its WHSmith stores for security reasons after an employee failed to follow airport procedures.
The airport’s airside stores were all closed, and WHSmith staff passes suspended, due to a “potential issue with the formal procedure for airside pass applications.”
The closures have been described as a precautionary measure as the airport investigates.
A Bristol Airport spokesperson said: “Following a staff member complaint about a potential issue with the formal procedure for airside pass applications not being followed correctly by WHSmith, we immediately suspended all WHSmith’s staff passes as a precaution while we fully investigate.
