Sunday 3rd November 10-12 to prepare the ground for planting saplings and clearing glass and ivy and brambles that are growing back in some of the areas we have already cleared.
The working party on 27th October was a great success. The small group of volunteers worked hard to move to the side of the clearing, the trunks and branches from the ash trees that had to be felled .
It was satisfying work with the usual half time break for tea and cake.
There is still some more tidying up to be done in this and the other new clearings, but we will soon be planting saplings to increase the diversity of trees in the wood.
We will be taking delivery of the saplings in early November and need to plant them be the end of the year to maximise their chances of doing well.
